This allowed us to drill the holes to bolt the 2 plates together, and put in a couple of locating pins between them so they can be taken apart and re-assembled without shifting.

Adapter Plate alignment66 viewsI had a big aluminum plate made into a bell-housing adapter plate, and another big aluminum plate for the Impulse 9 motor.
In order to get everything lined up with the transmission shaft properly, we built an alignment tool.
It fit snugly into the hole in the bell housing where the transmission mounts, and was the same diameter as the centering ring on the motor.
